Bhavna Infotech ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Shabdly mobile application. This policy explains how leaderboard rankings are calculated, winners are selected, prizes are distributed, and tournaments are governed within Shabdly.
1. Daily Leaderboard
The daily leaderboard ranks all players who complete the daily word challenge. Rankings are determined by:
- Primary ranking: Total score achieved for the daily word
- Tiebreaker: Completion time (faster completion ranks higher when scores are equal)
- Leaderboard resets every day at midnight IST (Indian Standard Time)
- Only legitimate, completed games are counted towards the leaderboard
2. Scoring Formula
Your score for each daily word is calculated using the following components:
- Base Score - determined by the number of guesses used:
- Guess 1 (first try): 1000 points
- Guess 2: 800 points
- Guess 3: 650 points
- Guess 4: 500 points
- Guess 5: 350 points
- Guess 6: 250 points
- Speed Bonus - a multiplier based on how quickly you complete the word (faster = higher bonus)
- Streak Multiplier - a bonus multiplier for consecutive days played
Final Score = Base Score x Speed Bonus x Streak Multiplier
3. Winner Selection
Winners are selected from the leaderboard based on the following criteria:
- Daily Winners: Top 3 players on the daily leaderboard at the end of each day (midnight IST)
- Weekly Winners: Top 3 players by cumulative weekly score (Monday to Sunday)
- Rankings are final once the leaderboard period closes
- In case of identical scores and completion times, the player who submitted first is ranked higher
4. Prizes
Winners may receive the following prizes based on their leaderboard position:
- Brand vouchers - gift vouchers from partnered brands
- Desi Coins - bonus virtual currency credited to the winner's account
- Exclusive in-app items - special themes, badges, or cosmetic items not available for purchase
Specific prizes for each period are announced in-app before the leaderboard period begins. Prize types and values may vary and are at the sole discretion of Bhavna Infotech.
5. Eligibility
To be eligible for prizes, players must:
- Have a valid, verified Shabdly account (signed in via Google Sign-In)
- Play the game legitimately without the use of any automated tools, bots, or scripts
- Maintain only one account per person (multiple accounts will result in disqualification)
- Not exploit any bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities in the app
- Not share or receive the daily word answer from other players before completing their own game
- Comply with all Shabdly Terms & Conditions
6. Anti-Cheat Measures
We take fair play seriously and employ the following measures to maintain leaderboard integrity:
- Server-side validation: All game results are validated on our servers to prevent score manipulation
- Suspicious activity detection: Unusual patterns (impossible completion times, automated behaviour) are automatically flagged for review
- Account verification: Winners may be required to verify their identity before receiving prizes
- Penalties: Players found cheating will have their scores removed, accounts suspended, and will be permanently disqualified from future prizes
7. Prize Distribution
Prizes are distributed as follows:
- Desi Coin prizes are credited directly to the winner's account within 48 hours of the leaderboard period ending
- Brand vouchers are delivered via the in-app voucher wallet within 48 hours
- Exclusive in-app items are automatically unlocked in the winner's account
- Winners are notified via push notification and in-app message
- Unclaimed vouchers expire after 30 days from the date of issue
8. Disputes
If you believe there is an error in your leaderboard ranking or prize distribution:
- Contact us at support@desichallenge.com within 24 hours of the leaderboard period ending
- Include your registered email, the date in question, and a description of the issue
- We will investigate and respond within 48 hours
- Our decision on all disputes is final and binding
9. Tournament Rules
Shabdly may host special tournaments with the following rules:
- Entry fee: Tournaments require an entry fee paid in Desi Coins (amount varies by tournament)
- Minimum players: A minimum of 10 players must enter for the tournament to proceed; if the minimum is not met, entry fees are refunded
- Winners: Top 3 players in each tournament receive prizes
- Prize pool: Tournament prizes are announced before registration opens and are guaranteed once the minimum player count is met
- Fair play: All anti-cheat measures and eligibility requirements apply to tournaments
- No refunds: Tournament entry fees are non-refundable once the tournament begins
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Shabdly after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
